Large Waterproof EVA Litter Mat

momomoca's Large Waterproof EVA Litter Mat is built for households where the litter box sits on a hard floor and every stray granule ends up underfoot. Fabric litter mats tend to soak up spills and hold onto odour over time, and their edges often curl up after repeated cleaning, which makes them awkward to keep flat against the floor. This mat takes a different route, using solid EVA material that doesn't absorb liquid at all, so anything spilled on the surface sits there until it's wiped away rather than soaking in and lingering. Because EVA holds its shape rather than softening or curling with use, the mat stays flat against the floor through daily foot traffic instead of bunching up at the corners the way some fabric alternatives do after a few weeks. Its large size is meant to cover the full approach to the litter box, catching stray litter in the first few steps out, which is where most tracking actually happens rather than further down the hallway. For multi-cat households or larger litter boxes, having a mat sized to cover the whole exit path makes a noticeable difference compared to a smaller mat that only catches litter directly at the box's edge and lets the rest scatter past it onto bare flooring.

Construction uses a double-layer design, with a top layer punched to let litter granules fall through on contact and a lower layer that holds the collected litter in place until you're ready to empty it back into the box. This is the same principle used in sifting-style litter mats, and it means the mat is actively catching and containing litter rather than just providing a soft surface for it to sit on top of and potentially get kicked further. EVA is the same material commonly used in play mats, yoga mats, and shoe soles, chosen here specifically because it's durable, non-toxic, and easy to wipe clean without needing to be removed for washing the way a fabric mat does. The surface doesn't absorb moisture, so it dries almost instantly after wiping, and it won't develop the lingering odour that can build up in fabric mats over weeks of regular use near a litter box. Its size makes it substantial enough to stay in place under normal cat traffic without sliding around, though placing it directly against the box rather than a short distance away helps it do its job most effectively by catching litter at the very first steps out.

Cleaning is simple: lift the mat periodically and tip the collected litter back into the box, then wipe the surface down with a damp cloth or pet-safe wipe if any residue or moisture remains. Because the material doesn't stain or absorb odour, regular wiping keeps it looking and smelling clean without needing a full wash cycle the way fabric mats eventually require. If the mat starts to show signs of cracking or breaking apart at the edges after extended use, it's a good time to replace it, since a compromised surface won't sift litter as effectively as it did when new. EVA is generally considered safe around cats, being the same material found in many pet-safe play surfaces, but as with any accessory near a litter box, it's worth keeping an eye on a new cat's first interactions with the mat to confirm they're comfortable walking across the textured surface rather than avoiding the box altogether. Positioned correctly and cleaned regularly, this mat offers a low-maintenance, long-lasting way to keep litter contained around the box rather than scattered across the surrounding floor, saving you a fair amount of sweeping and vacuuming over the course of a normal, busy week at home.

• Solid EVA material, wipes clean, non-absorbent
• Double-layer sifting design
• Large size covers the full exit path

Shipping
$4.90 on orders under $50, and free once your order reaches $50. Everything ships worldwide and takes 7 to 15 business days to arrive. You get a tracking number on every order.

Why it takes that long
We curate rather than manufacture, so orders ship from our supplier network rather than from a warehouse down the road. We would rather say so here than have you find out at checkout.
